REVIEW – We all know that person who has a bag that matches everything they do. One for school, one for going out, one for staying in, one that matches the outfit, the big one, the small one, and who knows how many others. I am sorry to say, that I am one of those people. I am always on the lookout for the perfect bag. Sadly, the only perfect bag is the Mary Poppins bag, and that doesn’t exist in real life. The Targus Avila tote bag is a great addition to my bag collection! It doesn’t just serve one purpose though, I can use this bag for almost everything. School, work, shopping, even church. The stylish tote is a great accessory for most occasions.

I am addicted to tote bags, handbags, purses, diaper bags, and any other accessory that improves the quality of my travel. I love being able to organize what I need to take with me. Even before I had kids, I always wanted a diaper bag because it had so many pockets and other fun features to make life easier.
When I pulled the bag out of the box, my first impression was wow. The quality of the material is so smooth. It feels soft and durable, but is also gorgeous. There aren’t as many pockets as I might prefer in other bags, but the padded section for laptops or other more delicate items makes all the difference. There are enough pockets to make sure your Chapstick and pens don’t get lost in the infinite abyss, but also has a wide open main compartment.
I have a 15.6-inch gaming laptop and an 11-inch Chromebook. Both of these devices fit in the laptop cradle, however, because of the design on my laptop, the magnetic closure doesn’t quite fit. The laptop still fits, and I can zip up the main compartment. The Chromebook is much smaller, and the magnetic closure has a lot of extra room, to the point of feeling pretty useless. I can fit a lot more inside the tote when carrying my Chromebook, but there is still a surprising amount of space when I use my laptop in there.
This tote from Targus may not have all of the pocket features, but that doesn’t mean it lacks functionality. In addition to the sleek design, it is also eco-friendly, made out of 11 plastic bottles.
The main compartment is a large 13L open space with a zipper. Inside the compartment, there is a zippered pocket on the side. Attached to the side are also four slip pockets for things like pens or business cards. The main compartment is also where you will find the laptop section. It is nicely padded with a magnetic closure. The back of the Targus Avila tote has a magnetic soft close pocket, and a trolley strap. The front of the tote has a zippered pocket for easy access of phone keys, or other items. I like to make sure my chapstick, mints or gum, a pen, some sticky notes, and earbuds are easily available, and I enjoy using this pocket for those types of items. It’s bigger than it looks.
I could definitely see myself using this when I have a class to go to or when teaching. I’m especially happy that the main compartment has a zipper to keep your personal objects from spilling out. There is enough room to put a bunch of books or magazines or papers or craft projects. I have also discovered that if there is a pocket, I have to put something in there. In turn, this makes the bag as a whole weigh more, and cause pain in my shoulders or back. I think the size of this shoulder tote makes it easy to carry what you need, and not get too carried away.
This bag is eco-friendly! I may not be able to do much to save the planet, but I love supporting those who can do more than I can. The material is made from recycled plastic bottles and is water-resistant.

I love everything about this bag. It is sleek and stylish with functionality. I wouldn’t be able to carry everything I need for my kids, but this bag is perfect when I am by myself. It has just enough pockets to keep my head in order. The size is perfect. If it were any bigger it would be too much for a shoulder bag, but any smaller and it would be too difficult to fit your laptop with anything else.
