REVIEW – I started a new job a couple of years ago. Trust me, it was for the better. This new job, however, requires I go out on construction sites which means I need PPE (personal protective equipment). One of the items I needed was steel or comp toe boots. So, I researched online and searched for a good deal. I found what I thought would be tough and comfortable from a company known for its shoes. They turned out to be big, heavy, and a little too wide. By the end of the day, my big toes and the ball of my foot were sore, but it’s what I had, and traveling to sites wasn’t very often. I decided to make do with what I had. Then along comes Brunt workwear with an offer to review some of their work boots. Yes, please! Brunt sent me a pair of their Ryng Low work shoes (I got to choose from their lineup). I was hoping they could replace my work boots by being lighter and more comfortable. How did they measure up? You’ll have to read on. No TL;DR here.
The Brunt Ryng Low work shoe is a hybrid performance work shoe with a lightweight, breathable construction with a composite safety toe.

The Ryng Low work shoe is built with a nylon-blended textile that’s abrasion resistance, flexible, and breathable. So it’s meant to be tough, lightweight, and cooler than traditional work boots. The safety toe is a nanocomposite. I was going to put a definition here, but when I Googled it, I found a lot of scientific terms above my head. So, if you’re curious, I would suggest looking it up. Maybe you’ll understand it better than I. I know the toe is tough, light, doesn’t conduct heat or cold, and meets all safety standards. Brunt Workwear also reinforced the toe and heel for high-wear areas, as well as using double and triple stitching at stress points.
The rubber outsole is oil and slip-resistant and heat-resistant up to 572 F / 300 C. They also provide a source of protection if you accidentally come in contact with live electrical circuits. These shoes meet the following standards:
Meets ASTM F1677-96 Mark II non-slip testing standards
Inside the shoe, there are 2 separate insoles allowing you to customize your comfortability.
Yep, I have a big foot.

I found the Brunt Ryng Low to be very comfortable on my last trip. This trip consisted of an overnight on-site from 9 pm to 8 am the next day, so there was a lot of walking and standing for a prolonged time. My favorite feature was the orange insole. It provided a great cushion for my feet. The shoes were also noticeably cooler than my other work boots. I also didn’t feel like I was walking around with an extra 5 lbs on each foot. I won’t say my feet didn’t hurt at the end but I was up and moving for most of that 11 hour stretch. They certainly weren’t as sore as they could’ve been had I worn my boots. My big toe and ball of my foot were much better wearing the Ryng Low work shoes.

Final thoughts
I’m so glad I reviewed the Brunt Workwear Ryng Low Comp work shoes. The price is comparable to other work boots of this caliber and in my case, a better deal when it comes to comfortability. Yes, you can get much cheaper work boots. I spent less when I was younger, and trust me, those boots weren’t worth it. If you’re looking for some great work shoes or boots, I suggest you check out Brunt Workwear. I think they make an excellent product at a reasonable price.
