Panel: If you experienced to select among Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn, who would you choose as your favorite and why? – Boxing Information
This week’s panellists were being asked to solid their minds back to the era of Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn and then decide their favourite
Maxi Hughes (Lightweight contender)
Nigel Benn for me. He has remained down to earth and humble. He is the “People’s Champ”.
Wayne Alexander (Previous European super-welterweight winner)
It would have to be Benn. He was just pure exhilaration and quite entertaining to observe. That’s not to say Eubank was not, but Benn was often placing bums on seats and you just understood his fights would likely not go the length. What manufactured him even more thrilling to watch was that he was a little bit vulnerable which made him more perilous. I also tried using to emulate his intense boxing design and style and stress ways.
Linus Udofia (Middleweight contender)
Nigel Benn was just one of my favourite fighters, so I would have to say Nigel. He wasn’t as proficient as Chris but he was just as a great deal of an animal.
Eric Donovan (Super-featherweight contender)
I was generally a Eubank supporter. I loved his personality, his showmanship, his flamboyance. He wasn’t just a showman, either. He backed it up as properly. He experienced that “x factor”. My brother, on the other hand, liked Nigel Benn, so much so that he was the only Irishman in a pub in Ireland shouting for Benn when he boxed Steve Collins.
