Dozens of sea turtles stabbed to death off Japan island – Instances of India
TOKYO: A pissed off fisherman has confessed that he stabbed to death dozens of safeguarded sea turtles on a southern Japanese island following they bought caught in his fishing nets, community officers say.
Between 30 to 50 green sea turtles had been observed useless or dying final on Thursday, with stab wounds on their necks and in other places, on a beach in distant Kumejima island, some 1,600 kilometres (1,000 miles) southwest of Tokyo.
It was “an particularly grisly scene”, according to Yoshimitsu Tsukakoshi, a senior staff members member at Kumejima Umigame-kan, a local sea turtle conservation entire body.
“Sea turtles are light creatures and they move away when humans approach them,” Tsukakoshi informed AFP on Tuesday.
