Spotted lanternflies are thriving in the Northeast this summertime. In New York Town, in which this year’s invasion seems particularly serious, men and women squash them on the streets, on railings and even on their cafe tables. The exterior partitions of Massive Apple buildings are blanketed with speckled, red bugs.
