Sirika explained to Information the trapped money will be launched as this was not the very first time Nigeria was keeping on to massive amounts of revenue belonging to foreign air carriers.
“In the past, Nigeria has shown the capability and the willingness and fairness to solve this sort of situation. It transpired when we took more than electric power in 2015: There have been plenty of blocked resources, about $600 million at that time. It was at a time when the nation was in a recession and there ended up dwindling revenues coming to the state, yet we honored our obligation to spend out all all those blocked cash,” Sirika advised Information Thursday.
“Sadly, owing to quite a few factors and good reasons, the monies piled again up. Govt is functioning really hard to be certain that these monies are released, not only for Emirates but all airways influenced,” Sirika added.
Sirika included that “mechanisms will be set in put to be certain that this does not happen in the upcoming.”
