When NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft flew past the dwarf world Pluto in 2015, it discovered that big swathes of the area are lined in a strange red materials. Planetary experts assumed they realized the identification of this material, but it turns out their very best guess isn’t a good match, leaving it a thriller.
