Nokia G50 5G shows up at British stores with a reduced cost than the Nokia X10
Back in April HMD World wide unveiled the Nokia X-collection with a pair of 5G-enabled mid-rangers and the Nokia G-series and more inexpensive LTE-only products. But there’s no tricky 4G/5G divide in between the G and X collection, seemingly, as British stores have started off listing a Nokia G50 with 5G connectivity.
LambdaTek lists two colorways, Blue and Sand, each dual SIM telephones with a 4/64 GB memory configuration. They are priced £217.52 with VAT included, that converts to about €250/$300. That falls between the Nokia X10 (€310) and the Nokia G20 (€160).
MoreComputers undercuts that value a bit, £207.56 with VAT, when showing the exact colorways and memory configuration. This converts to €240/$285.
There is no information on what chipset delivers the 5G modem. In the case of the X10 (and even the pricier X20) it is a Snapdragon 480, the most economical 5G chipset that Qualcomm can make. With that in mind, we wouldn’t be astonished to see a MediaTek Dimensity inside the G50.
By the way, there’s also a rumored Nokia X50 allegedly on the way with a Snapdragon 775 and a 108 MP digital camera. Unsurprisingly, the X-sequence model will have superior hardware than the G-sequence unit. There’s also the rugged Nokia XR20 that leaked very last week, that appears to be to be set for a July 27 announcement.
Will we see the G50 and X50 be unveiled much too? That is doubtful for now as the celebration appears focused only on the rugged XR20. HMD’s Solution Manager teased a flagship launch for November 11 and even though the G50 is no flagship, it could certainly tag along with just one.
