Verizon Will Limit Some 5G Deployment Close to Airports
WASHINGTON: Verizon Communications stated Tuesday it would briefly restrict some 5G deployment around airports, in a transfer aimed at averting a major aviation safety disaster.
Verizon explained it “voluntarily resolved to restrict our 5G community around airports” but would still launch its 5G Ultra Wideband community Wednesday. The announcement follows AT&T’s decision earlier Tuesday to halt some tower deployments in close proximity to airports.
Airlines had warned with no a delay near airports hundreds of each day flights or a lot more could have been canceled or impacted.
